ΕΓΚΡΙΘΗΚΕ ΑΠΟ ΤΟ ΥΠΟΥΡΓΙΚΟ ΣΥΜΒΟΥΛΙΟ ΤΟ ΝΕΟ ΣΧΕΔΙΟ ΧΟΡΗΓΙΩΝ «ΕΞΟΙΚΟΝΟΜΩ – ΑΝΑΒΑΘΜΙΖΩ ΣΤΙΣ ΚΑΤΟΙΚΙΕΣ» (2024)
November 18, 2024The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry (MECI) is expected to announce in September the “Save – Upgrade for Residences (2024)” Scheme, with a budget of €30 million. The Scheme aims at the energy upgrade of existing residences, providing grants for various investments that will reduce energy consumption.
Key points of the Scheme:
- Covered investments: Thermal insulation, window replacement, installation of shading systems, solar water heating systems, autonomous air conditioners, heating/cooling systems with heat pumps, installation of photovoltaic systems with net-billing, and energy storage batteries.
- Eligible beneficiaries: Any individual upgrading their residence (which is not used for economic activity) can submit only one application.
- Participation conditions:
- The residence must have a domestic electricity account with the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC).
- The first connection of the residence to the grid must have been made before January 1, 2008.
- An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) issued after July 1, 2024, is required.
- The grant will only be awarded if a primary energy saving of at least 60% is achieved.
- Maximum grant amount: Up to €32,000 per residence, depending on the investment.
